The Pirates are not very good.

I am sitting here tonight watching the Pirates play the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies started this series as one of the worst teams in baseball. I think the Pirates might be the worst now. The Pirates lost the first 2 games of this 4 game series. And tonight they are losing 7-1 in the 4th inning. Not good. The Rockies scored 5 runs in the first inning, and haven't stopped. Seems like every year after the all-star break, the Pirates play poorly. Maybe it's time to start trading away some of these players, while we can still get something in return. Good news is, football training camps open very soon! Here we go Steelers, Here we go!
Talked to my Mom tonight, and she said my Dad is doing OK, but Doesn't look like he will be home tomorrow. Maybe Monday? He has gotten out of bed and walked some, but, his appetite is not good, and he had to have a catheter put back in. Keep him in your prayers. Will try and get more updates tomorrow on him.

Been a busy week!

Yes, it has been a very busy week. I have not had much time to write anything in my blog since Sunday. Dawna and I went to Pittsburgh on Wednesday for my Dad's back surgery. We left here at 6 am, and went through a lot of bad traffic in Pittsburgh. Plus, there was a detour we had to follow to get to the hospital. We must have sat in traffic without moving hardly at all for 30 minutes. We finally arrived at the hospital around 8:30 am. Dad was already in surgery. We sat with Mom and Rose and her husband, Dave, in the busy waiting room. The place was packed. People had little kids there, and other people were hogging the rocking chairs which was not a nice thing to do when my 75 year old mother would have loved to have a comfortable seat to sit in. Anyhow, the doctor finally came and talked to us after the surgery was over, around 1:15 Pm. All went well, which was good. He had back surgery about 1 1/2 years ago, and Dr. Kang said he had to pretty much redo the whole surgery. Screws were loose, and he had to fuse the discs. He stayed in recovery until 5:30 PM. They told us, they had to wait for a room to clear out, and then to have it cleaned. Was a long day for us all. We saw Dad, and he looked okay, and was cracking jokes, so, we felt it was okay to head home. We got home around 8 PM. Had to work today, and boy was it hot! Dawna turned on the Air Conditioning this morning. Feels good in the house. Talked to Rose tonight, and she said they had Dad up out of bed today, which is very good. He could be home by Monday.
Pirates and Rockies are on TV now. Gonna go watch some of it and then head to bed. Old guys like me can't stay up late anymore. Need my beauty sleep! Talk to you all later!

Party on!

We got my mom last night. I told you she just celebrated her 75Th birthday this past week. We had a surprise party for her last night at the Pit and Pub in Conneaut Lake. She had no idea! We had all her friends and all my brothers and sisters (except for Chris, She is in Switzerland for a month). I think they had 80 people there. Was a great time by all. My sister Rose and her husband Dave stayed with us for the weekend. We all had a wonderful time. It was nice to have company here. I will post pics of her party early on this week. After we got home from the party, I turned on the pirate game to see how they were doing. They were down 9-3 in the 6Th inning. I really didn't want to watch them get hammered by the Cardinals, so, I put on the movie "Charlies Angels" on Cinemax. Went to bed after the movie, without checking how the game went. I got up this morning, and after 2-3 cups of coffee, I got on the Internet, and checked on the scores. I could not believe my eyes! The Pirates came back and won 12-11 in 10 innings! Nate Mclouth hit a 3 run homer in the ninth inning, and Jason Michaels hit a game winning 2 run homer in the bottom of the 10Th! Unbelievable! They have a remarkable record this year in extra innings. I guess you can never turn off the game, and give up on the buccos. They just never give up.
Looks like I may have sold my scooter. Had a guy come look at it today from Farrell. Dawna and I are going to have matching blue scooters. And they both go 60 miles per hour! Pretty cool. We will have loads of fun on them. Our other new one should be here this week sometime.
My Dad is having back surgery on Wednesday of this week. He will be at Montifiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. Please keep him in your prayers this week. The same surgeon that did Dawna's back is doing his. I will be there with him on Wednesday.
Got to go watch the Pirates now. Maybe I will watch the whole game today! Later.......
